Mary Moore

Born and raised in Ottawa, Mary has always had a strong inclination towards visual expression. Having studied both visual art and graphic design at Algonquin College, in combination with ongoing workshops and studio sessions, Mary enjoys a career that spans both disciplines.

Mary has, over the years, both worked and given workshops in oils, acrylics, coloured pencil, pastels and watercolor.

All her creative work is characterized by her own particular joy in the world around her, a lively sense of composition and colour, and a sincere wish to express that delight in a way that engages and delights the viewer as well.

“For me, each medium brings a different language to the creative process. Some speak quietly and contemplatively, like coloured pencil. Acrylics can be bold and immediate, oils sensuous, watercolour playful.”

Tom Lillico

Tom was born in Ottawa, but as the son of a military father also lived in Germany and in Winnipeg. After his father’s early death, Tom moved with his mother and brother back to Ottawa.

Tom has always had a love and sensitivity for visual art, long before he decided to take formal studies at Algonquin college in the 70s.

Once there, he gained experience in sculpture, painting, drawing and even working with fine metals. From pencil work through oils and sculpture, Tom’s work is rendered with care and sensitivity. Even his 2-dimensional work has a tactlie sensibility, and always, an intimate sense of place: Tom invites the viewer to explore every corner of a piece, every path or tuck in a trail.

A new enterprise for Tom is the creation of Rusic Furniture, crafted in cedar harvested from their property.
